As we close out the year, many of us are getting ready for the holiday season. While shopping for presents and making holiday travel plans is top of mind, make sure not to neglect your insurance. Mike has been a State Farm agent since 1982 and will celebrate his 43rd anniversary as a “Good Neighbor” agent this month. Mike is a life-long resident of Jackson County and a graduate of Alderson Broadus College. Grateful to live in small town America, Mike takes community service seriously and has been honored to serve in many ways. He served as member and president of the Jackson County Board of Health and was a member of Jackson County Library board of directors for 20 years. He is also a past board member of the Southern Jackson County Fire Department.

He has served on the Jackson County Historical Society board of directors for many years and has been a contributor to both of the society’s history books. He served as an information source and was featured in a 2018 dramatized documentary, “The Last Gallows”, about the last public hanging in West Virginia. Mike was recognized as a West Virginia History Hero during West Virginia History Day at the Legislature event in 2019 at the Culture Center in Charleston. Mike’s love of history has taken him on many adventures and has resulted in an interesting collection of antiques and local artifacts.
